KPMI is the parent organization of a body of ministries operating as local chapters in 36 states in the U.S. and 10 countries. Kairos addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men and women, also reaching out to their families and to the people who work in the prison environment. Almost 300,000 prisoners have been introduced to Kairos since its inception 40 years ago. The current number of volunteers exceeds 30,000 per year.
